In finite element consolidation analyses, the required input parameters are the soil properties and the soil permeabilities. The equivalent classic consolidation parameters can be calculated from those properties.
Cv (coefficent of consolidation) can be calculated as:
where k is the soil permeability, E is the Young's modulus, and v is the Poisson's ratio.
Tv (time factor) can also be calculated from the time of the stage and Cv as:
where H is the thickness of the soil layer.
